Research Proven Workouts That Get The Job Done in A Fraction of the Time...

Turbulence Training is my top pick for a safe effective weight loss program that is fun and really works. This is a real weight loss program that incorporates both a good diet and an exercise program that can get you your dream body in only three short workouts per week. The trainer behind this program really knows what he's doing and he has the body to show for it.

"It's a program that's designed to burn fat without sacrificing the muscle you already have. It isn't designed to make you look like a professional bodybuilder, but it promised to reduce the fat on my body and it did..."

The Truth About 6 Pack Abs Review - An Authentic Review

The Truth About 6 Pack Abs is 117 pages of  "hard body secrets." Similar to Turbulence Training, but longer on the theory of why it works. It uses full body exercises and and high intensity interval training such as wind sprints to increase the metabolism. Diet is sensible, but clean.

The Truth About Six Pack Abs is a .pdf downloadable and printable  fitness program. It works with both Mac and PC.

The Truth About  Six Pack Abs is a 120 page program that promises to reveal fitness secrets that will shed fat to develop and reveal those coveted six pack abdominals.

The Trainer

Michael Geary is the author of The Truth About Abs program. He has pretty good credentials: Certified Nutrition Specialist, Certified Personal Trainer, web article author and contributor to Muscle & Fitness and Oxygen magazines.

What Kind of Equipment Do I Need?

The Truth About Abs doesn't necessarily require that you have a gym membership, but you will need some home gym equipment to to make this program work for you. The book recommends you at least purchase or otherwise obtain:

  • a stability ball
  • a set of adjustable dumbbells
  • Kitchen Scale (recommended for diet portion)

Specifically, it recommends the quick-changing PowerBlock adjustable dumbbells and access to a full gym for best results, even though it strongly favors free weights over machines. If you have a bench, a stability ball, a chin up bar and a set of adjustable dumbbells (a regular set is fine); you can completely blow off the gym if that's not your scene.

How Many Days Do I Need to Work Out?

Geary wants you to keep your work out sessions under an hour and do the weight bearing exercise three times a week plus the interval training on an additional day. So, altogether you will need to make time to work out 4 days a week.

The Program

The program is sound. It relies on weight bearing moves (dumbbell, long bar and some bodyweight exercises), along with high intensity interval training instead of long steady cardio sessions. It has a long, involved nutrition section. The author is a Nutrition Specialist, and it shows. If you currently make poor food choices, but you want to know how to eat better and why, you'll be very pleased with the length and breath of the nutrition information in this book.

The author warns that the program only works if you apply the information; so you need to be committed to following the nutritional guidelines as well as the work out.

Even though the program fundamentals are sound, I found the book a little long winded on the theory, and not as easy to use as other programs built on the same principles (i.e. Turbulence Training.) The Truth About Abs has pages and pages of different exercises and purports to teach you to create your own workouts from those exercises, but it seems like too much to ask from a beginner.

Fat Loss Ability:

The program will work if followed. It's built on solid fat loss principles and the nutritional advice is sound. This is no fly-by-night fad diet, it's a combination of careful eating and proven exercise movements.

Ease of Use:

The book is long winded on the theory behind every part of the program; biology, nutrition, and exercise mechanics. It makes for somewhat of a dry read. While it does supply example routines from beginner to advanced, beginners will probably find themselves wishing for a little less theory and a little more hand holding.

Customer Support:

Customer support is provided via email at help-desk at truthaboutabs.com. A pre-purchase FAQ is available on the official site that answers many common questions. Includes an eight week money back guarantee.

The Truth About 6 Pack Abs Overall:

(Overall Score - Not an Average)

Sound information, if a little long winded. Beginners may require more hand holding in the creation of effective workouts.
